Out of an abundance of caution for our players, supporters, and the greater Washington community, the DC Eagles Board voted unanimously to suspend all practices and games through June 10, 2020, or until the Maryland, DC, and Virginia stay-at-home orders are lifted.
While we are saddened that the first half of our season has been impacted by COVID19, the health and safety of our team, families, and community are of the utmost concern.
We are closely following the recommendations from the CDC, our local governments, and the USAFL, and the Board is ready and willing to revise our position as the official guidelines are adjusted.
While we are not able to take the field, the Eagles are still staying active. We have a teamwide Tuesday night virtual Happy Hour every week and we have 26 players participating in the digital fitness competition organized by the Montreal team. If you want to learn more about our response to COVID19, to get more information about the DC Eagles or Australian Rules Football in the United States, or just want to (virtually) meet some awesome people, feel free to contact our President, Seth Sternberg, at president@dceaglesfc.com.
